The actual number of HH in the municipality is 4,558. But the standard of the DOH, the denominator used is computed from the projected population divided by 4.611778. For the current year, there is no declared barangay as Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) certified.
The municipality recorded 145 live births for the year, 4 still births and 1 twin delivery. The twin delivery is counted as 2 live births. These births occurred solely in Kapangan which includes home deliveries, births in Birthing Centers and at Kapangan District Hospital. Reporting of births is by place of occurrence. Births outside the municipality-although they were track and given health services in their respective Barangay Health Stations during their pregnancy and are recorded in the Target Clients Lists in the Barangay Health Stations were not included. This is to avoid duplication of births since they are being reported by the hospitals.
Births in Kapangan District Hospital was reflected in Barangay Central. Only three (3) barangays achieved 100% FBD Rate namely Central, Gadang and Taba-ao.
Out of the 144 recorded live births, 92.2% occurred in a health facility, 6.3% at home and 0.7% in other places. Birth in other places occurred in Barangay Cuba specifically in a waiting shed while on their way home to Balakbak from the hospitals. Home deliveries occurred in Beleng-belis (1), Datakan (1). Gaswiling (3), Paykek (1), Pongayan (2) and Sagubo (1). Most births occurred in Central (117), Gadang (13) and Taba-ao (4) respectively.

In the past years, the municipality was able to gain awards both from the provincial and regional level for their efforts in the national voluntary blood services program. Despite the pandemic, when COVID-19 restrictions were less tight, the Local Blood Council pushed for the continuation of blood donation activities in the light of blood shortage due to the limited movement of people brought about by the pandemic but keeping in place the minimum health protocols set by the IATF.
There was a total of 346 blood donors or 156.67% of the target 210 which is 0.001% of the total projected population of the municipality.
